Makes it easier to pack, organize, and find something when on the go. Special Forces medical rucks share a similar design.
1000 Denier Cordura is the preferred material for all Special Forces Rucks because it is resistant to the rigors of everything, including war. It's tried and tested.
The GR1 backpack is proudly American-made, built right here at home using GORUCK construction techniques proven by Special Forces soldiers in the harshest environments on planet earth.
3 internal pockets: 1 large elastic pocket, 1 large mesh zippered pocket, and 1 small go-to pocket.
A removable, hard plastic frame sheet stabilizes the laptop compartment and allows you to carry more weight comfortably.
3 rows of external and internal MOLLE webbing let you customize GR1 how you want.
Shoulder straps and top handle are extra padded to carry heavier loads more comfortably.
Our rucks are highly water resistant aka rainproof.
YKK zippers with silent, glove friendly zipper pulls constructed from parachute 550 cord.
The separate compartment next to your back is extra reinforced to securely take a laptop into combat.
It has taken us over a decade to find a way to make the best rucksack of all time, GR1, even better. We added all-new 210D HT (High Tenacity) CORDURA® on the back panel and underside of the shoulder straps that doesn't irritate skin or chew up apparel (looking at you, merino wool).
Any change, any modification of any kind is a huge deal to us, requiring extensive testing and a strong why. In this case, four years of testing a new fabric (210D CORDURA® ) for the back panel was warranted.
